Posting in Paradise

Hey. Sorry I didn't get round to posting from paradise!!!I had a great time. It was really cool having all my cuzzies and things on my mums side in the same place again. the last time that happened was about 3 years ago, for my twin uncles' 40th birthday. Oh well, i gotta go help with dinner!! bye

When I"m in Oz........

Hey! Wow I haven't posted for a while!! I'm going to Australia in the holidays to see my cousins. They live in North Queensland which is, well, in the north!! They say it's getting cold where they are, which probably means it's about 27 degrees Celsius. And yes, they think it's cold!! Any way, if i can get a computer while I'm over there, I'll try and remember to put a post on with some photos of moi and my cuzies!! Any way, I've gotta go now, Mum's got dinner ready! Bye!

Hey!! The weather has been terible lately!!! It was my little sisters birthday on sunday. I gave her some stuff for the desk mum and dad got her. I got my mum a fondue set for mothers day. It's pretty awesome!!

Communication interview with Andrea H (Mum)

1) Isobel:What was the electronic communication like when you were my age?
Andrea:People used telephones. There was one telephone in a house and they were generally not walk-about, they were usually fastened on the wall. Most of them still had dials, they weren’t the push-button ones.

2) I:How has it changed since then?
A:Obviously people now usually have more than one phone in the house and they are push-button ones and mainly walk-about ones. Also people have mobile phones. And a lot of people now have fax machines and computers. When I was a kid computers took up whole rooms and only big businesses had them.

3) I: What would you rate as the best communication tool when you were young? Why?
A:Conversation, talking to people face to face because having a conversation was the best way to communication.

4) I:Is verbal communication better or worse than it used to be?
A:Worse because people rely too much on txt and email and don’t talk to each other as much.

5) I:Do you prefer past or present communication? Why?
A: The ways we communicate nowadays are faster and more convinient because you can communicate with people who aren’t near you. It’s much less personal [than it was] though.

6) I:What do you think the best communication is these days? Why do you think that?
A:Probably mobiles and texting. [Because it’s] easier to keep in touch with people all day and it’s more convenient.

Hi from school

Hi I'm posting this from school. Most people who have a blog who are here are on their blog. My freind is sitting next to me and I'm pestering him about how to customize my blog cos I'm not good at stuff like that. We've got school photos today. Any ways I've gotta go cos now my friend is pestering me to go onto his blog so tata!!

I just want you to know, I named my blog Dixie's Diary for 2 reasons. 1.I couldn't think of anything else and 2.My old horse Dixie had to be put down over the holidays.
